Dare Community Crime Line
(1) Larceny of a Bike: On 5/15/2008 a Trek Navigator 300, blue and silver in color was stolen from the Wright Woods area of Kill Devil Hills. The bicycle is valued at $1,500. Contact Crime Line or Det. S.P. Mills reference Case # 2008029609
(2) Vandalism: At approximately 3:00am, Monday the 13th of May, at least two youthful white males, broke into the property of the Lost Treasure Golf located at the corner of West First Street and US 158. The males vandalized the property and broke into several locked storage buildings. The total estimated damage is unknown at this time, but believed to be in the thousands of dollars. It is likely that the suspects live close to the scene of the crime and were seen together on this evening wearing the clothes pictured. One male was wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt with “Sublime” written across the front. Evidence was collected from the scene that will connect the suspect to the crime when located.

(3) Larceny from Vehicle: On 5/16/2008 sometime between midnight and 7:00 a.m., a vehicle in the 1400 block of Percy Street was broken into and numerous kayak-related equipment was stolen. Among the items stolen were a kayak spray skirt, a backpack, a rain jacket, green color, size small, a fleece jacket size small, blue color, a yellow paddle float and a phone dry bag. (4) Breaking and Enterings Beach Road (general): For the past several weeks a number of mainly seaside homes along NC 12 in Kill Devil Hills have been broken into. Electronic items, including DVD players, in-home theater systems, plasma and flat screen televisions have been stolen. Any information relating to these crimes is important. (5) House Fire: On 3/29/2008 a house in the 600 block of

(6) Breaking and Entering: On or about 12/03/2007 two houses in the 1700 block of North Virginia Dare Trail were broken into. They were broken into again on or about 12/12/2007. (7) Stolen Equipment and Bike: On or about 12/13/2007 several items were stolen from the 1100 block of Indian Drive. These included a Graco Ultimax II paint sprayer with paint gun and extension hose. The sprayer and accessories are worth $1200, a red Town and Country Mountain bike purchased from KDH Cycle. It is a 21 speed. The bike is worth $490. Contact Crime Line or Det. (8) Breaking and Entering: Some time between November and January a residence in the 1600 Block of North Virginia Dare Trail was broken into and two 19" Curtis Mathes televisions were stolen along with a DVD player. (9) Larceny of Propeller: On or about 1/1/2008 a 250-300 lb. propeller, bronze with a monel shaft (an alloy of nickel and copper and other metals) was stolen from the 700 block of W. Lake Drive. The propeller had been displayed in the yard to look like an upside down boat capsizing on the lawn with the keel sticking up. Value of the propeller is estimated to be $1,000. OCA # 2008000176. (10) Larceny from a Vehicle: On or about 1/6/2008 a 1998 Chevy Blazer parked in the 400 block of Burns Drive was broken into and two I-Pods and one charger were stolen. The I-pods have " Madison Ambrose Itunes" engraved on the back. Value of the property is approximately $630.00. OCA # 2008001703. Contact Crime Line or Det. (11) Larceny: Sometime around 08/20/2007 a 7 ½ foot tall pirate statute was stolen from the front of "A Little Added Touch" at 2407 N. Croatan Highway. (12) Larceny of a Motor Vehicle: On or about 11/17/2007 a white 1986 GMC pickup was stolen from the parking lot of Lost Treasure Golf at 1600 N. Croatan Highway. The vehicle's passenger side widow is broken out. The tag on the vehicle at the time of the theft was OBX16806. OCA# 2007100245. Contact Crime Line or Det. J.C. (13) B&E of Residence: On August 1st, 2007 a residence in the 400 block of Sportsman drive was broken into and 3 personalized surf boards were removed. The boards were hand-shaped and have a black oval emblem with M.E. O'Neill. All of the surfboards have either tail blocks, nose blocks, or both. The first one is a 9'0 yellow long board with red bands on top and red and black nose and tail blocks. Another long board, 8'11, was yellow and had tail blocks and was red on top. The last board was a 7'2 fun board with a blue cross on the deck and blue and white tail blocks. Total value of the boards is over $1800.00.
