Dare Community Crime Line

Kitty Hawk Police Department is seeking your assistance in solving the following crimes.
(1) During the last part of January and first of February 2006, Kitty Hawk Police responded to a house under construction in the area of Grissom Street. The complainant advised vandalism had taken place inside of the home. Once inside officers determined that several finished boards of sheetrock were kicked and broken-out, leaving holes in the walls. Damages in the incident approached $1000
(2) On 11-02-2005 between the 4900 and 5100 block of Lindberg Ave in Kitty Hawk, several breaking/enterings of rental cottages were reported. Entry was typically made by either kicking in or forcing open a door. Once inside, very little was noted missing from the homes. With the damage done to enter the home, it was very possible that someone would have heard or seen something in the process.
(3) On Thursday, 10-06-2005 during the early morning hours; Pizzazz Pizza and Outer Banks Glass were broken into. The suspect(s) entered each of the sites and attempted to obtain goods from each of the businesses. The break-ins are consistent with other break-ins in neighboring Towns of the Outer Banks that also involved businesses.
(4) On Wednesday 10-19-2005, a larceny of an ATV was reported from the area of the Promenade, very close to the foot of the Wright Memorial Bridge. The four-wheeler was described as follows: 2003 Yamaha “Kodiak” 4-wheeler Dark Green in color The ATV was last seen in or near the water on the shore of the Currituck Sound. Near the WM Bridge.
(5) During mid-September, in the 4000 and 5000 blocks of Lindberg Ave in Kitty Hawk (between the highways), several Break-ins were reported. Entry was typically gained through doorways and relatively little was stolen from the home(s) upon entry. The apparent motive for the breaking and entering was for shelter.
(6) In early September, a residence under construction at the end of Bob Perry Road in Kitty Hawk experienced a theft from the job-site. 20 bundles of red cedar shake shingles were stolen from the site sometime during the night of 09-04-2005.
(7) In the area of the 3-Mile Post between the highways, several Breaking and Entering reports have been taken at various rental homes in the Lindberg Ave. / Ride Lane area of Kitty Hawk. The amount of property taken has been minimal and in most cases, no property was determined missing from the residences. The break-ins began sometime in Mid-May of 2005.
