Is seeking your assistance in solving the following crimes:

           

There have been several reports of cars being broken into and also of autos being stolen in the Roanoke Island area. These have occurred from the middle of June through today 08/08/08. Almost all of these vehicles were unlocked, and the keys were left somewhere in or on the stolen vehicles. Cash and loose change are being stolen from wallets in these vehicles and items of greater value are being left, with the exception of one case. In that case, a silver/gray in color .44 Smith & Wesson revolver with titanium silver frame and a loaded .44 mag speed loader were stolen. Information is needed on these cases. As a reminder, please remember to lock your vehicles, and don't leave your keys in your vehicle(s).

(1) The Sheriff’s office is working several incidents of larceny from motor vehicles on Burnside Rd. on Roanoke Island. These latest incidents occurred 7/22/08 during the evening. Other vehicle larcenies have also occurred through out the county where unlocked cars were searched for valuables. Almost all of the vehicles were left unlocked or the keys were left in them. Anyone having information about these car larcenies is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office or Crime Line.

(2) During the night on 7/20/08 someone entered a vehicle on NC 12 in Hatteras. Stolen from that car was a Sony cam-corder, apple/Ipod , and the owners wallet and contents.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office or Crime Line. The Sheriff’s Office again reminds everyone to LOCK unattended vehicles.

(3) On 5/2/08 a kiteboard and associated equipment was stolen from a residence on HW 12 in Avon. The board is a silver HD was taken from under the dwelling: value of stolen equipment is $2-3,000.00.

(4) Larceny of a pool pump was reported 5/3/08 from a storage shed on Colony Ct. in Salvo. The pump was a super hyward and valued at approx. $600.00.

(5) Breaking, Entering and Larceny of property valued at approximately $100,000 from a residence in the Oaks, Manteo on 10/21/07 .  Stolen: 4 pistols, (1) Ruger.22 magnum handgun, (1) High Standard target pistol, (1) Dan Wesson .22 revolver and (1) Colt New Frontier pistol, money, jewelry and assorted electronic games.

(6) Burglary of an unlocked residence in Waves on 7/24/07. Someone entered the residence at night and stole a suitcase with all the contents to include, Nintendo cd’s, I-pod, purse with contents, cell phone and charger.

 

 

NOTE: Recently throughout the county, several unlocked vehicles have had properly stolen from them. The Sheriff’s Office strongly suggests that vehicles be locked when left unattended.

Duck Police Department:

 

Is seeking your assistance in solving the following crimes:

 
(1) Breaking and Entering and Larceny reported on April 03, 2008 at 160 Ocean Way that someone used a pry tool to open a window and then stole a TV and surround sound entertainment equipment.
 
(2) Breaking and Entering reported on April 30, 2008 at 132 Skimmer Way that someone cut the screen and broke the frame to gain entry into the residence. Nothing was stolen from the residence.
 
(3) Breaking and Entering and Larceny reported on April 30, 2008 at 126 Quarterdeck that someone entered the residence and stole a digital camera. There was no sign of forced entry, so the suspect may have had access to the residence.

Kill Devil Hills Police Department:

 

Is seeking your assistance in solving the following crimes:

(1) Robbery and Assault :  On Sunday, August 24 th , 2008 at approximately 2:30 a.m. a male and female were assaulted on West Airstrip Road in Kill Devil Hills by two white males.  The males were described as in their teens, one heavyset, the other medium build.  The male and female victims were injured and the female victim's purse was stolen by the suspects.  Anyone with information regarding this incident should contact Crime Line or Det. (2) Breaking and Entering: On July 29 th , 2008 at approximately 1:40 a.m. two white males broke into The Pearl restaurant in Kill Devil Hills.  The restaurant is attached to the Sea Ranch on NC 12 near 3 rd Street .  The subjects entered through a window.  Suspect number one is about 5'6"-5'8", medium build, blond hair, crew cut, appears to be in his early 20's.  Suspect number two is 5'6" -5'7", medium build, late 20's early 30's, receding blond hair shaved close to the head.  Suspect number two has a thin tattoo that encircles his calf about an inch or so below his left knee.  These men stole money, liquor and electronics.  Anyone with information regarding this incident should contact Crime Line or Det. (3) House Fire:  On 3/12/2008 a house fire at 1527 N. Virginia Dare Trail destroyed a multi-million dollar home, destroying all contents within.  At this time, the cause of the fire is "undetermined" and it is under investigation.  If anyone has any information relating to this fire, they are urgently requested to contact Crime Line or the Kill Devil Hills Police Department. Is seeking your assistance in solving the following crimes:

(1) During January and early February 2007, the Brew Thru(s) in Kitty Hawk and Kill Devil Hills, were broken into and property was taken. The suspect(s) broke into the businesses sometime between 9:00 p.m. and 06:00 a.m. A significant amount of rolled coin was taken from the break-ins. Brew-Thru is offering a reward for information resulting in a conviction of the suspect(s), in addition to any Crimeline rewards typically offered.

(2) In early May 2006, the residence at 5100 Putter Lane was broken into and several items of substantial value were removed. Evidence at the scene tends to lead investigators to believe that a vehicle was used to transport the stolen items from the home. Any information or suspicious activity noted at the residence during this time would be greatly appreciated.

(3)During the time of mid-May 2006, between the 4400 and 4900 block of the Beach Road, 2 break-ins were reported. In both cases, the houses were used only for lodging overnight and the suspect moved on. No items were reported missing, only the cost to repair the items damaged during entry.

(4) In mid-January a breaking/entering and larceny was reported at the Ocean View Auto Supply (NAPA) in Kitty Hawk. Entry was made through a front glass window and money was taken from the cash register inside. This case seems to be a companion case to other break-ins reported throughout Dare County during this same timeframe in which auto part supply stores were targeted.

Is seeking your assistance in solving the following crimes:

(1) June 8, 2008 - Larceny of the ships bell (Bronze/brass) from the Elizabeth II at Roanoke Island Festival park between the hours of 1800 on 6/7/2008 and 1030 on 6/8/2008. Value of this antique bell is around $3,000.

(2) June 7, 2007 - Breaking/Entering and Larceny from a residence in Pirates Cove. Three fishing rods and reels were taken. Estimated value is $3,000.

(3) July 18, 2007 - Larceny from a parked vehicle located at Festival Park, someone entered vehicle and took a camera and Optical equipment, value $600.

Nags Head Police Department:

 

Is seeking your assistance in solving the following crimes:


(1) On July 12, 2008 (5) vehicles were reported to have been broken
into while they were parked on Atlas Street, Albatross Street, and in the 2100 Block of Va. Dare Trail. Once entering these unlocked vehicles the suspect(s) removed money and a white gold necklace with a square charm.

(2) On July 21, 2008 between 3 PM and 6:15 pm two vehicles were
entered in local beach accesses. One vehicle was parked at the Abalone St access and once entered the suspects(s) removed money, assorted CD'S, and a black in color Fossil wallet. Another vehicle was parked at the Hollowell Beach access and once entered a ladies purse containing money was removed along with credit cards and a pink in color Sanyo cell phone.

(3) On July 21, 2008 a First Degree Burglary was reported in the
2200 Block of Virginia Dare Trail. Between 9 PM and 11:30 PM unknown
suspect(s) entered an occupied cottage and removed 1 wallet and 1 purse from the residence that contained money. Both items were later recovered outside of the residence with the money removed.

(4) On June 26, 2008 a B/E/L was reported at the Jurassic Putt miniature golf course located in the 6900 Block of Croatan Hwy. The ticket booth at this location was entered as well as several statues being damaged. On June 27th around 12:40 AM officers on patrol saw two white males at this location and attempted to detain them. Both subjects ran from the scene and were not located. The ticket booth was again entered on this night with entry being made through a window.

(5) On July 7, 2008 a B/E/L of a vehicle was reported in the 3400 Block of Virginia Dare Trail. Unknown suspect(s) entered the victim's
unlocked vehicle and removed a credit card.

(6) On July 7, 2008 a B/E of a vehicle and attempted larceny was reported in the 200 Block of Altoona Drive in South Nags Head. Unknown suspect(s) entered the victim's vehicle and attempted to remove a stereo. Damage was also done to the ignition switch in the vehicle.

(7) On June 21, 2008 a B/E/L was reported at 7306 S. Va. Dare Trl, the Dune Burger Restaurant. Unknown suspect(s) entered this location between 2am and 10am on June 21 and removed US currency.

(8) On June 13, 2008 a felony larceny was reported at the Food Lion located on the north end of Nags Head. Unknown suspect(s) entered a storage building behind the store and removed a set of "Trystar" brand heavy duty generator cables.

(9) On 5-26-2008 a vehicle break in was reported in the 2100 Block of Va. Dare Trail.  Unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked vehicle and removed 12 gift cards belonging to the victim.  This break in occurred between midnight and 8 am on 5-26. 

(10) On 5-23-2008 a felony larceny was reported in the 5500 Block of West Sea Chase Drive in the Village at Nags Head.  Between 10 pm on 5-22-2008 and midnight on 5-23 unknown suspect(s) removed two complete sets of golf clubs from under the residence.  The clubs that were removed included brands such as Taylor, Ping, Ben Hogan Odyssey, Wilson and Callaway.  A Sky Caddie S2 was also in one of the bags along with the clubs.  

(11) On 5-23-2008 a vehicle break in was reported in the parking lot of Bainbridge beach access.  Unknown suspect(s) entered a locked vehicle and removed money.  This crime occurred between 4 and 5 pm.  

(12) On 5-23-2008 a felony B/E/L of a residence was reported in the 400 Block of West Sunset Greens Ct. in the Village at Nags Head.  Between 10 pm on 5-22 and 8 am on 5-23 unknown suspect(s) entered a ground floor room and removed 11 golf clubs.  These clubs consisted of (3) Odyssey brand putters, (2) drivers (Ping and Titleist) and other clubs that consisted of the following brands- Taylor, Ping, Adams, Perfect Club, and Calloway. 

(13) On 6-6-2008 a larceny of a pocketbook was reported in the 300 Block of Gallery Row.  Between 10:30 and 11:30 pm an unknown suspect removed a ladies purse from under this rental cottage.  The purse contained money, a Motorola cell phone, and credit cards.

(14) The Nags Head Police Department is asking for information that would lead to the arrest and conviction of the subject(s) responsible for the armed robbery that occurred at the Stop Quick Convenience Store located at 2112 S. Croatan Hwy. on March 18. Around 10pm on March 18 a black male approached the clerk at the Stop Quick and threatened her with a knife. The suspect fled the area after getting an amount of money from the store. The black male is described as being approx. 5ft 8 inches tall, weighing approx 165 pounds and in his early 20's with dark complexion.

(15) The Nags Head Police Department is investigating a Hit and Run accident with injuries.  On Friday 03/07/2008 at approximately 9:00 PM a pedestrian was struck on S. Croatan Highway in front of Kelly’s Restaurant.  This pedestrian was flown to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with critical injuries.  Pieces of the striking vehicle were recovered at the scene.  A small red or white vehicle with damage to the front right passenger side area is being sought after.   If you have any information about this accident, please contact Crimeline or Det. Is seeking your assistance in solving the following crimes:

(1) 2007740707 – Damage to Property On 10/22/2007 the victim’s 2006 tan Chevy Malibu was parked at the hillcrest Beach access when an unknown subject(s) did minor damage causing dents and white scrape marks to same.

(2) 2007701044 – Damage to Property Sometime between the afternoon hours of 10/16/2007 and the morning hours of 10/17/2007, the victim’s 2002 Ford Thunderbird was egged by unknown suspect(s) while parked in the driveway of his home on Deer Path Lane.

(3) 2007681497 – Damage to Property Sometime between the afternoon hours of 10/10/2007 and the morning hours of 10/11/2007, unknown suspect(s) drove across the golf course at Duck Woods Country Club causing damage to the putting green, a tee box and a fairway.

(4) 2007681598 – Breaking, Entering & Larceny Sometime between the evening hours of 11/03/2007 and the morning hours of 11/05/2007, several hundred dollars worth of power and hand tools were removed from a locked storage area of a home under construction on the 200 block of Ocean Boulevard. There was no forced entry so the suspect(s) may have had knowledge of access to the storage area.

(5) 2007701106 – Breaking and Entering Sometime between the evening hours of 11/07/2007 and the morning hours of 11/08/2007, unknown suspect(s) broke into the storage area of a home under construction in the 200 block of Ocean Boulevard. This same location had been broken into previously (see above) therefore, there was nothing stored there to be taken on this occasion. This time the door to the storage area had been pried open using an unknown device.

(6) 2007740777 – Larceny from Motor Vehicle Sometime between the evening hours of 11/22/2007 and the morning hours of 11/23/2007, unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked black Jeep Cherokee at a residence in the 100 block of Duck Woods Drive and took a leather wallet from same.

(7) 2007760447 – Breaking, Entering & Larceny Sometime between 10/07/2007 and 11/09/2007 a residence on 7 th Avenue was forcibly broken into and a 50” Vizio plasma television was removed from same. A back door to the residence was pried open after unknown suspect(s) had attempted to gain entry by removing an upstairs door from its hinges.

(8) 2007760452 – Damage to Property Sometime between the evening hours of 11/09/2007 and the morning hours of 11/10/2007, the mailbox at a residence in the 100 block of Chicahauk Trail was “smashed and egged.” The suspect(s) may have been juvenile and may have been acquainted with the victim.
